URGENT: ISIL captures Kurdish Peshmerga forces in Makhmor area, Mosul

lllllllllMosul (IraqiNews.com) The British network Sky News announced on Tuesday that the insurgents of the Islamic State in Iraq and the Levant captured a group of Kurdish Peshmerga forces in the area of Makhmor, the east of Mosul.

It is noteworthy that the spokesman of the Kurdish Ministry of Peshmerga Brigadier General, Helkrd Hekmat had confirmed earlier today that the Kurdistan Regional Government received the first shipment of American arms to confront the organization of ISIL.

The Kurdish Peshmerga forces lack heavy and weapons compared to what is owned by the gunmen of ISIL who seized the weapons and modern equipment after being left by the Iraqi army in early June because of the attack of ISIL on the city of Mosul, northern Iraq.

As reported by IraqiNews.com, On August 4, 2014 the Kurdistan Regional Government asked the USA for armaments to fight ISIL.
