150 Peshmerga elements to go to Kobanî on Sunday

(Iraqinews.com) 150 elements of Peshmerga forces in the Kurdistan region will go to the city of Kobanî on Sunday to help the Kurdish People’s Protection Units (YPG), while the 150 element, who have gone to the city for nearly a month, will return to their homes.

A source in the Peshmerga said, “150 elements of Peshmerga forces existing in Kobanî, will be replaced by a hundred and fifty other elements to exercise the same tasks.”

Noteworthy, Peshmerga forces entered Kobanî city in October 28, 2014. It is composed of 150 elements, with heavy weapons. Its mission is supporting Kurdish forces in the fight against the organization of the Islamic State.

Peshmerga forces had a major role in supporting the fight against ISIS, which began to withdraw from the city. These forces, in association with the Kurdish fighters, managed to recover some of the areas from the hands of terrorist militants.
