3 prison guards killed, wounded in armed attack east of Baghdad

(IraqiNews.com) Baghdad – A source in the Interior Ministry announced on Tuesday, that three prison guards were either killed or wounded in an armed attack carried out by unknown gunmen east of Baghdad.
The source said in an interview for IraqiNews.com: “this afternoon, unknown gunmen, driving a modern vehicle, shot at a civilian vehicle carrying three prison guards at the Ministry of Justice on Muhammad al-Qasim Highway east of Baghdad, resulting in the death of one prison guard and the injury of two others.”
The source, who asked anonymity, added: “the security forces rushed to the area and transported the wounded to a nearby hospital for treatment and the body of the dead man to the forensic medicine department.”
