44 civilians killed, wounded in Samarra suicide bombings

Salahuddin (IraqiNews.com) According to a security source in Salahuddin province, the outcome of the five suicide bombings that targeted Samarra district south of Tikrit, Thursday, has reached 44 dead and wounded.

The source said in an interview for IraqiNews.com,”The five suicide bombings targeted today the west and northeast of Samarra resulted in three dead and 41 wounded from the security forces and associate members.”

The source, who asked to remain anonymous, added, “Security forces cordoned off the scenes and imposed strict measures, while ambulances transported the injured to the hospital and the bodies of deaths to the medico-legal”.

On Thursday, Samarra district in Salahuddin province witnessed mortar shell attacks and five suicide bombings in different parts of the district, which resulted in deaths and injuries.
