51 ISIS elements killed in Salahuddin and Anbar, says MoD

Baghdad (IraqiNews.com) On Tuesday, the Ministry of Defense announced, that 51 ISIS elements have been killed and a number of armored vehicles were destroyed in clashes, which occurred in Salahuddin and al-Anbar provinces.

The ministry said in a statement obtained by IraqiNews, “A ground force from Anbar Operations have managed to kill 14 ISIS elements after recognized them near the area of al-Hayakel, while in a separate operation at al-Walid, Iraqi troops of the Border Guards managed to destroy a number of vehicles, which attempted to approach al-Walid cross border.”

“In Samarra, Iraqi troops with support from Iraqi Air Force managed to liberate al-Mo’atasim area and kill 15 militants as well as destroy 6 armored vehicles that belonged to the group. On Samarra-road, Army troops in Sur Shanas area clashed with a number of ISIS militants, and killed 22 elements,” said the statement.
