6 people killed, wounded in bomb blast near popular market east of Baghdad

(IraqiNews.com) Baghdad- A source in the Interior Ministry announced on Wednesday, that six people had been either killed or wounded in the explosion of an explosive device near a popular market east of Baghdad.
The source said in a statement obtained by IraqiNews.com, “A bomb exploded, at noon today, near a popular market in al-Mashtal area east of Baghdad, killing one person and wounding five others.”
The source, who asked to remain anonymous, added: “Ambulances rushed to the area and transferred the wounded to a nearby hospital for treatment and the body of the dead to the forensic medicine department, while security forces cordoned off the area and prevented approaching it in anticipation of the presence of other explosives.”
