8 people killed and wounded in bomb blast near popular market south of Baghdad

(IraqiNews.com) Baghdad – A source in the Iraqi Interior Ministry announced on Wednesday, that eight people had been either killed or wounded in the explosion of an explosive device near a popular market south of Baghdad.
The source said in an interview for IraqiNews.com: “A bomb exploded this morning near a popular market in the district of Mahmudiya south of Baghdad, resulting in the killing of two people and wounding six others.”
The source, who asked not to be named, added: “A security force rushed to the scene and transported the wounded to a nearby hospital for treatment and the bodies of the dead to the forensic medicine department, while opened an investigation to determine the circumstances of the incident and the party that stands behind it.”
