(IraqiNews.com) Baghdad – The Ministry of Defense announced on Thursday the arrival of four helicopters to join the air-defense system, this comes within the contracts made by the Ministry with its counterpart in Russia.

The ministry said in a statement followed by IraqiNews.com: “Four advanced combat helicopters arrived today to join the combat squadrons of the Army Air Force and to enhance its leading role in resolving the battle against the forces of aggression.”

“The arrival of these helicopters comes in implementation of contracts made by the Ministry of Defense with its counterpart in the Federal Republic of Russia.” The ministry added.

The Russian government handed over Iraq earlier this year 13 helicopters to confront the armed groups in the military operation waged by the army against “terrorism.”
