Ground forces needed to defeat ISIS, says Kerry

(IraqiNews.com) Baghdad – US Secretary of State John Kerry announced on Thursday, that the defeat of ISIS requires the presence of troops on the ground, adding that ISIS is a dangerous group that cut heads and destroys archaeological sites.

Kerry said in an exclusive interview with CNN, followed by IraqiNews.com, “We need to increase the pressure on ISIS; we are talking about very specific ways to do this with the countries of the region,” adding that, “we need the presence of people on the ground and I am convinced that there will be at the appropriate moment.”

Kerry also noted, “ISIS should be defeated,” considering that “It’s a very dangerous group, especially with the beheading of the archaeologist and the destruction of monuments.”
