Gunmen kill intelligence officer, 4 houses explode in Baghdad

(IraqiNews.com) A source within the Iraqi police announced on Thursday, that an intelligence officer has been killed in an armed attack eastern Baghdad, while unidentified gunmen blew up four houses north of the capital.

The source said in an interview for IraqiNews.com, “This morning, unidentified gunmen opened fire with a muffler weapon on an intelligence officer as he passed near Canal street near al-Talibiya Bridge east of Baghdad, killing him on the spot.”

The source, who asked to remain anonymous, added, “Unidentified gunmen blew up four houses in Hor Al-Basha area in Taji district north of Baghdad, which led to significant material damages,” without giving further details.
