(IraqiNews.com) The ISIS organization put some monuments seized in Iraq and Syria for sale on eBay.

BBC quoted reports by the British newspaper  ‘The Times’ that ISIS seeks to earn money by selling monuments it seized on eBay.

The newspaper added that jewelry and pieces of metal and porcelain seized by ISIS made their way to buyers in the Gulf, indicating that the sales process is often done through the internet.

The newspaper stressed that the trade has become highly lucrative for the Islamic State.

Five of the six Syrian archaeological sites on the list of the United Nations Educational, Scientific and Cultural Organization (UNESCO) have been looted by ISIS militants. The quantity of monuments were put up for sale have caused a decline in the price of some sectors in the market.

The newspaper quoted a spokesman for eBay as saying some of the materials put for sale on the website have been removed on the recommendation of the American authorities.
