Iraqi Air Force rescues troops trapped inside Mallab District in Ramadi

(IraqiNews.com) Anbar – On Tuesday, Iraqi Ministry of Defense announced, that the army’s air force conducted an air rescue operation to save a number of troops trapped inside Ramadi.
The ministry said in a statement obtained by IraqiNews.com, “Today, Iraqi Air Force (IAF) conducted an air rescue misision to save a number of troops besieged by ISIS elements in the city of Ramadi,” noting that, “The troops were airlifted from a location in the district of al-Mallab.”
The ministry’s statement described the operation as “successful.”
