Iraqi forces begin operation to liberate al-Fatha north of Tikrit

(IraqiNews.com) On Friday, a security source in Salahuddin province said, that the Iraqi joint forces began an operation to liberate the area of al-Fatha north of Tikrit.
The source told IraqiNews.com, “The joint forces of the army and al-Hashed al-Sha’bi, with the participation of the clans of al-Obeid and the forces of al-Hawija, began a military operation to liberate the area of al-Fatha (80 km north of Tikrit),” pointing out that, “The operation resulted in advancing into the area of al-Rashad on the road, which links between Tikrit and Kirkuk.”
