7 ISIL elements captured north of Babel

Babel (IraqiNews.com) Military official in Babel province reported on Wednesday that “Seven terrorists of the Islamic State in Iraq and the Levant have been captured including four snipers and a leader of an Arab nationality during a military campaign launched by Baghdad Operations Command, Babel Operations Command and Anbar Operations Command to the north of Babel.”

The official told IraqiNews.com “A joint force launched a wide security operation and captured seven terrorists, among them the Egyptian commander of ISIL in Babel Abu Roghaif and four snipers in Fadhiliya area within Jurf al-Sakher district (45 km) to the north of Babel province.”

“The operation also resulted in destroying eight weapons caches and several vehicles used by the gunmen as well as killing dozens of militants of the ISIL,” the official said, noting that “The operation will continue since the artillery is still shelling the ISIL shelters in Hujair, Abed Weis and Albu Shams areas within Jurf al-Sakher district (45 km) to the north of Babel.” /End/
