ISIS to impose conscription on Iraqi youth

(IraqiNews.com) A source in Kirkuk province in northern Iraq confirmed that, the organization of the so-called Islamic State in Iraq and Syria (ISIS) is planning to impose conscription on youth in Riyad area west of Kirkuk (250 km north of Baghdad).

The source, who asked not to be named, said, “ISIS intends to impose conscription on the youth of Riyadh,” adding that the decision came during a meeting between ISIS elements and elders of some villages of Riyad district and the areas in south and west of Kirkuk. ISIS mentioned its intention to impose military on the youth to fight in its ranks, or they would be arrested and expelled.

Noteworthy, the ISIS organization currently dominates the southern and western regions of Kirkuk, ever since it took over Mosul, Nineveh province (405 km north of Baghdad) on June 10, 2014.
