(IraqiNews.com) Baghdad on Saturday, Iraqi officials said that the so-called Islamic State in Iraq and Syria (ISIS) killed 25 members of a Sunni tribe during their attack on the city of Ramadi, west of Baghdad, in what seemed like an attempt to take revenge on opposing clans.

Officials added in a press statement that the bodies of ‘al-Bofahd’ tribesmen were found after the army launched a counter-attack on ISIS in a village on the eastern outskirts of Ramadi, the capital of Anbar province, on Saturday.

Noteworthy, hundreds of ‘al-bonemr’ tribesmen were executed by the ISIS fighters last month, in an attempt to break the local resistance that seemed to have drastically dominated al-Anbar province.
