Kurdish Peshmerga forces foil ISIS attack on southern Erbil

Erbil (IraqiNews.com) On Sunday, a source within the Kurdish paramilitary Peshmerga group said the Kurdish fighters foiled an ISIS attack on two villages in southern Erbil, and killed 33 ISIS elements during clashes with ISIS.

The source, who requested anonymity, informed IraqiNews, “The Peshmerga forces foiled an ISIS attack on the villages of Sultan-Abdullah and Tal al-Rim, located in the area of al-Koywer in southern Erbil,” adding that, “The clashes resulted in killing 33 ISIS militants and forced the ISIS group to retreat without gaining any foot in the area.”
