Kurdistan RegionG: Peshmerga secure road for besieged Izidies in Sinjar

Erbil (IraqiNews.com) The Chairman of the National Security Council of Kurdistan Region, Masrour Barzani, assured that “The Peshmerga forces have secured a road towards Sinjar Mountain of western Mosul city to evacuate hundreds of Izidies besieged by terrorist groups of the ISIL in the mountain.”

Barzani added in a press conference “The Peshmerga forces liberated a large area of the mountain, killing a hundred elements of the ISIL during the security operation launched by the Kurdish forces to liberate the whole area of Sinjar.”

The besieged Izidies can reach Dohouk safely now through Sinjar – Dohouk road which is open now, he confirmed, noting “The President of Kurdistan Region Masoud Barzani was supervising the security operation since the beginning.”

On the other hand, Iraqi security official reported to IraqiNews.com “The Peshmerga forces advanced on Thursday evening towards the north of Sinjar district through Rabia’ district of western Mosul after two days of heavy bombardment by air jets of the international US- led coalition on Sinjar area.” /End/
