(IraqiNews.com) Kirkuk – On Saturday, an official within the paramilitary Kurdish Peshmerga forces announced the killing of eight ISIS elements as well as the destruction of two vehicles belonging to them during violent clashes in southwest of Kirkuk.

Wesa Rasoul, an official in the Operations Command of the Peshmerga forces, stated for IraqiNews.com, “In the late hours of yesterday, Peshmerga forces have engaged in battle against a group of ISIS militants, which attacked the village of al-Hananiyah in the district of al-Riyad in southwest of Kirkuk,” pointing out that, “The clashes between the two sides resulted in killing 8 ISIS elements and injuring others, in addition to destroying two vehicles for them.”

“The Peshmerga forces are on high alert in their ranks to prevent any breaches,” Rasoul added.
