Qura-Taba causalities hit 144 dead, injured says Diyala Council

Diyala (IraqiNews.com) On Sunday the council of Diyala province announced that the causalities of the bombings in Qura Taba in east of Baqubah hit 22 dead and 120 injured including security elements and government officials as well as clans’ leaders.

Ammar Mazahem al-Jabouri, the member in the provincial council of Diyala stated, “22 dead and 120 wounded resulted of the bombings that targeted Qura Taba, 112 north east of Baqubah.” A number of Iraqi officials including security elements and clans’ leaders were also killed, including the sheikh of al-Laheeb clan, and a member of the provincial council.

“Security elements shortly arrived to blockade the area and set up tight security procedures” Al-Jabouri said.

Earlier today, Qura Taba has witnessed 3 heavy explosions. two by suicide bombers driving vehicles and another explosion of bomb emplaced within a car parked at the neighborhood.
