Salahuddin Operations Command denies ISIS regaining control over Baiji

(IraqiNews.com) On Friday, command of Salahuddin operations denied that ISIS regained control over Baiji, confirming that that the security forces are completely in control on the ground.

Commander Maj. Gen. Abdul-Wahab al-Saadi said in an interview for IraqiNews.com, “We conclusively deny the reports about the terrorists seizing an inch of land was once liberated by our troops in Baiji (40 km north of Tikrit).”

Saadi added, “The terrorists are trying to exploit the island territory which is open from the west side of Baiji to the west of Tikrit, and to implement individual operations towards the security forces,”  adding, “Their attempts did not succeed and our troops control the ground fully.”
