Salahuddin Operations Commander and his bodyguards Injured in explosion north of Tikrit

(IraqiNews.com) On Saturday, a security source in Salahuddin announced, that the Operations Commander of the province, Maj. Gen. Abdul-Wahab al-Saadi and one of his bodyguards were wounded in an explosion north of Tikrit.

The source said in an interview for IraqiNews.com, “An explosive device implanted on the side of a road near al-Mazrouaa area south of Baiji (40 km north of Tikrit) exploded this afternoon, when the convoy of the commander of Salahuddin Operations, Maj. Gen. Abdul-Wahab al-Saadi was passing, which resulted in him and one of his bodyguards injured.”

The source added, “Security force rushed to the scene, while the injured were transferred to a nearby hospital.”
