 Security force attacks ISIS prison in Kirkuk

(IraqiNews.com) A security source in Kirkuk province announced Wednesday, that a force of the Tigris Operations Command has stormed a prison belonging to the ISIS group southwest the province, noting that 34 detainees have been released.

The source said in an interview with IraqiNews.com, “A force of Tigris Operations Command led by the operations leader Abdul Amir al-Zaidi stormed today a prison belonging to ISIS in Hamrin Mountains (100 km southwest of Kirkuk) and released 34 people.”

The source, who asked to remain anonymous, added, “The force arrested 10 prison guards, including two carrying the Somali nationality.”

On the other hand, the same source stated, “ISIS blew up the Zaghiton Bridge to impede the security forces’ progress towards Rashad district (45 southwest of Kirkuk).”
