 Security forces foil ISIS attack south of Mosul

(IraqiNews.com) Nineveh – A security source in Nineveh province announced on Sunday, that the security forces foiled an attack carried out by ISIS on the army forces near Qayyarah, south of Mosul.

According to information shared by the source and received by Iraqi News, it was mentioned, “A number of ISIS members driving vehicles attacked the members of army’s 72nd brigade at Haj Ali in Qayyarah with weapons of different types.”

“The army forces, backed by the international coalition aviation, repulsed the attack and killed over fifteen (15) ISIS members. The international coalition warplanes also conducted air strike targeting boats and ferries of ISIS on Tigris river near al-Makok and Haj Ali in Qayyarah. The boats were damaged competely and killed ten (10) ISIS members.”
