(IraqiNews.com) Salahuddin – On Sunday, Diyali Provincial Council announced, that a former leader of al-Ba’ath party has been killed during battles to retake Baiji’s refinery in north of Tikrit.

The president of the security committee in Diyali Provincial Council, Sadek al-Husseini, stated in an interview for IraqiNews.com, “Joint security forces backed by al-Hashed al-Sha’bi militia fighters succeeded in killing one of the well-known leaders of the dissolved Ba’ath party, known as Abu Anas,” pointing out that, “The so-called Abu Anas was from the residents of Diyali Province,” and adding that, “He was killed in battles to liberate Baiji’s refinery in north of Tikrit.”
