(IraqiNews.com) Anbar – On Tuesday, Khalidiya District Council in Anbar province announced that forty (40) ISIS members were killed while they were trying to attack the security forces in northern Ramadi.

Head of Khalidiya Council, Ali Dawoud, said in a press statement, a copy of which was obtained by Iraqi News, “The joint forces managed to repulse an attack launched by ISIS at Albu Risha, Tawa and al-Garayshi. In the counter attack, forty (40) ISIS members including four suicide bombers were also killed.”

“ISIS is trying to launch attacks on the security forces in Ramadi to distract the military troops from the liberation operations in Fallujah,” Dawoud added.
