Security forces repel ISIS attack on Alas oilfields in Tikrit

(IraqiNews.com) A security source in Salahuddin province announced on Monday, that the security forces were able to repel an ISIS attack that targeted Alas oilfields northeast of Tikrit, which left a number of ISIS elements dead.
The source said in an interview for IraqiNews.com, “The security forces managed this afternoon to repel an attack by ISIS elements that targeted Alas oilfields northeast of the city of Tikrit,” pointing to “the death of more than 10 ISIS members.”
“Security leaders ordered the transfer of Baiji oil police regiment to Ajil to boost the military existence in the fields.”
