US supplies 11 Abrams tanks to Iraqi army

BASRA / IraqiNews.com: Eleven U.S. made Abrams tanks arrived in Umm Qasr Port, Basra province – southern Iraq, according to an Iraqi-U.S. contract in this regard. “The U.S. should supply 120 tanks to the Iraqi army according to this contract,” an army source told IraqiNews.com news agency. He explained that other dispatches of tanks will be received later. The source mentioned neither the model nor production year of the tanks. The oil-rich city of Basra lies 590 km south of Baghdad.
