(IraqiNews.com) Anbar – According to a security source in Anbar province, violent clashes broke out between security forces and ISIS elements on Friday in Strait area east of Ramadi, pointing to the entry of ISIS members to parts of the region.
The source said in an interview for IraqiNews.com, “confrontations and violent clashes broke out, this morning, between security forces backed by tribal fighters and al Hashed al-Sha’bi militia on one hand and ISIS elements on the other hand in an area (11 km east of Ramadi); using various weapons and equipment.”
The source, who asked anonymity, added: “ISIS elements have entered parts of the area,” indicating that, “these confrontations came after ISIS control on Husaybah region and its expansion in the region.”
