Violent clashes between joint forces and ISIS elements southeast of Mosul

(IraqiNews.com) On Saturday, violent clashes broke out between the joint forces and elements of the ISIS organization southeast of Mosul, according to a local source in Nineveh province

The source said in an interview for IraqiNews.com, “Violent clashes broke out between the joint forces of the Peshmerga backed by Iraqi police and elements of the ISIS organization in Sultan Abdullah village, in Makhmour area, southeast of Mosul,” noting that, “The clashes erupted after an attack launched by the security forces to gain control over the village. ”

The source, who asked not to be named, added, “The US-led coalition aircraft during the clashes bombed the ISIS vehicles and rallies in the village,” pointing out that, “Dozens of ISIS elements were killed or injured as a result of the bombing.”
