Bahrain re-opens embassy in Tehran

(IraqiNews.com) The Foreign Minister of Bahrain, Khalid bin Ahmed Al Khalifa, announced, on Sunday, that the Bahraini Ambassador to Iran resumed his office after a year and a half of suspension.

Khalifa said “The Ambassador of Bahrain Kingdom in the Islamic Republic of Iran resumed his office in Tehran similar to embassies of the brotherly States,” he did not mention the date of the return.

Bahrain has retrieved its Ambassador from Tehran, on March, the 15th 2011 in protest of Iranian criticisms after deploying Saudi forces in Bahrain to confront protest movement against the regime. Tehran responded by taking the same action and withdrew its Ambassador in Manama.
