(IraqiNews.com) On Tuesday, the international coalition against ISIS led by Washington announced during a meeting in Paris its support to the military and political plan of the Iraqi government to liberate the land.

Deputy US Secretary of State, Anthony Blinken, described the Iraqi government’s plan as “a good plan; militarily and politically.”

For his part, French Foreign Minister Laurent Fabius stressed the need to fight the extremist organization, pointing out to the need for “a long-term battle.”

In the joint statement, the representatives of 20 countries called for “launching an inclusive political process rapidly under the United Nations supervision in Syria.”

The statement said that Syrian President Bashar al-Assad’s regime “is unable and does not want to fight ISIS.”

The meeting comes within the efforts of the international community to fight against extremist organizations, which have become a threat, especially with the continuation of the extremists to achieve gains on the ground and after ISIS control of Ramadi, which represented the biggest setback for the Iraqi security forces since the fall of Mosul.
