Deir Ezzor (Syria News) Informed sources informed, on Thursday, that the Syrian army forces had taken the village of Hawija Sukkar, in the eastern countryside of Deir Ezzor, Qasioun News reported.

The sources revealed that Syrian army forces recaptured Hawija Sukkar Village, in the eastern countryside of Deir Ezzor, after battles with the Islamic State group

The army forces chased the Islamic State fighters in the area, the sources explained. Several members of the Islamic State group were either killed or wounded during the clashes.

The Syrian army and its allied militias inflicted heavy human and material losses on the Islamic State group in the vicinity of Jafra Village, east of Deir Ezzor.

Earlier today, Syrian regime has announced completely recapturing the city of Ma’dan, on the southern bank of the Euphrates River, located between the provinces of Deir Ezzor and Raqqa.
