Tajik opposition leader killed in armed attack in İstanbul

International (IraqiNews.com) A Tajik national, who is believed to be leader of an opposition movement called Group 24, was shot to death by an unknown individual in İstanbul’s Fatih district on late Thursday.

The incident took place at around 10: 30 p.m. at Molla Gürani neighborhood. Reportedly, Umarali Kuvvatov who settled in Turkey after leaving Tajikistan was shot in the head by a person behind himself. Arriving at the scene quickly, medical staff determined that Kuvvatov had already died.

Police took security measures around the neighborhood and launched a detailed investigation to find assailant. /End/
