(IraqiNews.com) Deputy Chairman of the Turkish Development and Justice Party, Yassin Oktay said that there are a lot of Kurdistan territories threatened  by the attacks of the so-called Islamic State in Iraq and Syria (ISIS), and Turkey will not stand idly in front of the ISIS organization threat over Kurdistan.

Yassin Oktay said , “Turkey is currently discussing the possibility of sending heavy weapons to the Kurdistan region, in order to repel the ISIS threat”, pointing out that Turkey has apprehensions of the existence of such weapons in the hands of the wrong side.

Oktay explained that Turkey initially committed to the position of neutrality in front ISIS attacks, because 46 Turkish prisoners were being held by the organization in Mosul, so Turkish aid was limited to relief and humanitarian level only.

Oktay added, “Turkey agreed to send military advisors and trainers to the Kurdistan region, in order to provide technical and logistic support for Kurdish Peshmerga forces fighting the ISIS terrorists.”
