Turkish soldier killed in clashes with ISIS in Syria: army

Baghdad – (IraqiNews.com) A Turkish soldier was killed and five others were lightly wounded in clashes with Islamic State militants north of Syria, Turkey’s military said Friday.

Four Turkey-backed Syrian opposition combatants were also killed and 25 others were wounded over the past 24 hours, said the statement.

On Thursday, three other Turkish soldiers were announced killed by Syrian government airstrikes on the city of al-Bab, the first incident since Ankara launched in August its operations against ISIS militias stationed at towns near its borders with Syria.

Turkish Prime Minister Benali Yildirim warned on Friday that his country would not remain silent and would investigate the incident.
