7 killed by Turkish missile

SULAIMANIYA / IraqiNews.com: The media representative for the Kurdish Workers Party reported today that the final toll from a Turkish jet shelling the north of Sulaimaniya has reached seven civilians.  Ahmed Bneef told IraqiNews.com that the civilians were driving their car when a Turkish helicopter fired a missile at them, in an area approximately 190 km north of Sulaimaniya.  Women and children were among the dead, the source added.  The military media representative in the party, Dozdar Hamo, announced that the shelling operations continued in Qandeel Mountain areas, with no human casualties.  Hamo elaborated to IraqiNews.com that there were no human casualties, only material damage.  In a statement issued yesterday the Kurdish government expressed its concern and condemnation of the bombing, which led to the immigration of the Iraqi people.  The statement added that that matters could not be resolved by resorting to violence, only through dialogue,  international accords and joint discussions among the parties.  Turkish forces have been bombarding and shelling Kurdistan bordering areas under the pretext of chasing anti-Turkish PKK party members who took refuge in the mountains there.  RM (TI)/SR 561
