90 million dinars for compensating al-Qayara’s bombing’s casualties

NINEWA / IraqiNews.com: The director of the al-Qayara district in south of Mosul said on Monday that 90 million Iraqi dinars were distributed to those who were damaged in the truck bomb attack in the district last July. “The representative of Iraq’s vice president Younes Hashem and member of the Ninewa provincial Yehiya Abd Mahjou distributed 90 million Iraqi dinars ($81,000) on 30 damaged families,” Saleh Hassan Ali told IraqiNews.com. A truck bomb went off last July in al-Houd village in al-Qayara district, targeting the house of Sheikh Abdul Razaq Majli al-Wakaa, leaving scores of people injured and destroying 30 houses. Mosul, the capital city of Ninewa, lies 405 km north of Baghdad. The original city of Mosul stands on the west bank of the Tigris River, opposite the ancient biblical city of Nineveh on the east bank, but the metropolitan area has now grown to encompass substantial areas on both banks, with five bridges linking the two sides.
