Abadi discuses situation in Iraq and region with US Congress and Senate officials

(IraqiNews.com) On his visit to the United States, Prime Minister Haider al-Abadi met with a number of officials in the Congress and the Senate, according to a statement issued by his information office.

The statement released today and obtained by IraqiNews.com said, “On Wednesday, Prime Minister Haider al-Abadi held a number of meetings with officials in the US Congress and the Senate during his visit to Washington.”

The statement added, “Al-Abadi met with Majority Leader Kevin McCarthy and a number Congress members who addressed the security and economic challenges facing Iraq and the threat of the ISIS organization and the achievements made by the Iraqi government, in addition to the conditions of the region.”
