Abdul Mahdi, UN Envoy to Syria discuss regional updates

Baghdad (IraqiNews.com) The former Iraqi Vice-President, also a leader within the Supreme Iraqi Islamic Council, Adil Abul Mahdi, met the UN Envoy to Syria, Al-Akhdar Al-Ibrahimi, as they discussed the latest political updates in the region especially the situation in Syria.

A statement by Abdul Mahdi’s office cited on Sunday “An extended meeting involved Abdul Mahdi and Al-Ibrahimi in addition to the former Lebanese Media Minister, Ghasan Salama, has been held in Paris on last Thursday.”

“The meeting tackled the importance of achieving the success for the mission of the UN and the Arab League’s Envoys to Syria to stop the blood shedding in Syria,” the statement concluded.

It is worth mentioning that Al-Ibrahimi assumed the post of the UN Representative in Iraq and Afghanistan previously.
