Abu Dhabi (IraqiNews.com) – Crown Prince of Abu Dhabi and Deputy Supreme Commander of the UAE Armed Forces Sheikh Mohamed bin Zayed Al Nahyan held on Monday a meeting with visiting Iraqi President Barham Saleh.

According to WAM news agency, the crown prince welcomed the Iraqi president to the UAE and expressed his hopes that the visit would contribute to strengthening ties between the countries.

The two sides reviewed means of promoting cooperation between the UAE and Iraq in the trade and investment sectors in order to serve the interests of the Emirati and Iraqi peoples.

They also exchanged views on regional and international developments, as well as challenges facing the Arab world, and means to address such challenges.

The UAE, under the leadership of President Sheikh Khalifa bin Zayed Al Nahyan, is interested in strengthening relations with Iraq and advancing cooperation in various fields, the crown prince said.

He also extended his congratulations to President Saleh for his election as Iraqi president and wished him success in his duties.

He further emphasized the importance of Iraq’s stability, adding that it affects the stability of the region as a whole.

For his part, the Iraqi president expressed his happiness to visit the UAE, emphasizing his country’s keenness to strengthen relations with the UAE in different sectors.

He wished the UAE and its people would continue progress and prosperity.
