Ahrar Bloc MP rejects Zebari’s comments

BAGHDAD / IraqiNews.com: An MP in the Parliamentary Security and Defense Committee rejected the statements made by Iraqi Chief of Staff Babakr Zebari on the non-preparedness of Iraqi forces to defend its airspace at the present time, according to a Sadrist Trend statement. The statement, received by IraqiNews.com, quoted Ahrar Bloc MP Hakim al-Zamili as saying “the Iraqi army is capable of defending its airspace, but we question the fate of the funds spent from the previous budget to equip the army to defend this space.” General Zebari announced, earlier, that Iraq will not be ready to defend its space before the year 2020.
