Ahrar bloc not to vote on Infrastructure Law draft, says MP

Baghdad (IraqiNews.com) MP, Iqbal al-Ghurabi, of al-Ahrar bloc assured that al-Ahrar bloc will not vote on the Infrastructure in its current draft.

In a press statement received by IraqiNews.com on Wednesday “We will not vote on the Infrastructure law draft because it will impose new debts on Iraq while Iraq has huge amounts of money so we should avoid imposing new debts as done by the previous regime.”

“The head of the Sadr Trend, Muqtada al-Sadr, stated that the government and the parliament have to vote on the law draft that limits the terms of the Premier, Nouri al-Maliki, because Iraq has qualified persons who can run the political process and Iraq,” she added.

“The political process cannot be run by one person where this is the dictatorship,” she pointed out, noting that “The Dawa Islamic Party does not accept to endorse a new law draft to limit the terms of the PM Post because the PM is from the DIP.”
