Al-Iraqiya Coalition’s Spokesman, Shaker Kattab, denies knowledge of his nomination for defense minister’s post

BAGHDAD / IraqiNews.com: The Official Spokesman for al-Iraqiya Coalition, Shaker Kattab, has denied on Monday his knowledge of his Coalition’s proposal to nominate him for the post of Defense Minister, but he said some of the State of Law Coalition Members had expressed readiness to nominate him for the post, if al-Iraqiya decided that officially.   “I have no knowledge if al-Iraqiya had officially nominated me for the Defense Minister’s post, but some State of Law Members had expressed support to nominate me for the post, if al-Iraqiya decided that officially,” Kattab told IraqiNews.com news agency.   The Legislature of al-Iraqiya Coalition, Salman al-Jumeily, had denied on Monday the intention of his Coalition to present a new candidate for the defense Minister’s post.   Differences had continued since about 4 months about the candidates for the security cabinet posts, that are still vacant, especially the interior and defense ministers posts, with the first being the share of the State of Law and the second of al-Iraqiya, while each side rejecting the candidate of the other.   SKH (IT)
