Al-Iraqiya legislature says its meetings with National Coalition failed to achieve any result

BAGHDAD / IraqiNews.com: A Legislature of al-Iraqiya Coalition, led by former Prime Minister, Iyad Allawi, had said that the joint sessions, recently held between his Coalition and the National Coalition, led by Prime Minister, Nouri al-Maliki, have failed to achieve any result, due to the non-existence of a clear position towards the National Council for Strategic Policies (NCSP).   “The recent meetings with the National Coalition have not led to a result about the main suspended issues, because the National Coalition did not have a clear position towards the completion of the Arbil Agreement, especially the NCSP,” Zuhair al-Aaraji told IraqiNews.com news agency on Saturday.   Al-Aaraji expressed hope that the meeting of the political blocs next Monday would “lead to the easing- up of differences and lay a time ceiling for the implementation of the Arbil Agreement, based on the Initiative of Kurdistan President, Massoud Barzani,” adding that al-Iraqiya Coalition “had several choices, and won’t take any serious attitude, unless after a complete study.”   Noteworthy is that Kurdistan President, Massoud Barzani, had launched an initiative to settle the political crisis on 16/9/2010, comprising the formation of an 8-12 member committee, representing different political blocs, to carry out talks, covering the settlement of suspended differences and the formation of a government of national-partnership.   Al-Iraqiya Coalition had held a news conference on Friday, in which its Leader, Iyad Allawi,, said that the dialogue with the State of Law Coalition had been a “loss of time,” and threatened to withdraw from the political process in the event of non-implementation of the Arbil Agreement.   SKH (RT)     509
