Al-Iraqiya MP says its choices open if its Defense Minister’s candidate rejected

BAGHDAD / IraqiNews.com: The Legislature of al-Iraqiya Coalition, Hamid al-Mutlag has called on Iraqi President, Jalal Talabani, to achieve the “minimum” right of Arbil Agreements and to exert pressure on the candidates of al-Iraqiya for the Defense Minister’s post, confirming that its choices would be “open” if its candidates would continue to be rejected.   “The President must achieve the minimum level of   agreement among the political blocs, in order to settle all the differences among those blocs,” Mutlag told IraqiNews.com news agency, calling for “response for al-Iraqiya’s demands by accepting its candidates for the Defense Minister’s post and to end all the differences with the State of Law Coalition .”   Al-Iraqiya Coalition is led by former Prime Minister, Iyad Allawi and the State of Law Coalition is led by Iraq ’s current Prime Minister, Nouri al-Maliki.   “All choices shall be open before al-Iraqiya Coalition in the event of non-acceptance of its candidates for the Defense Minister’s post, because it won’t tolerate any obstacle to end this problem,” Mutlag said.   In conclusion Mutlag said that the main reasons for the deterioration of Iraq ’s security and economic dossiers were due to “the absence of the political consensus in Iraq ,” warning from “non-respect of the wishes of al-Iraqiya Coalition’s masses, whose their voting the nationwide elections had granted it the largest number of votes.”   SKH (IT)   556
