Al-Maliki heads for Ankara

BAGHDAD / IraqiNews.com: Iraqi Prime Minister Nouri al-Maliki left Iraq on Wednesday heading for Ankara, the first visit after signing the U.S. troops withdrawal agreement, an official source said. “The premier is accompanied by ministers of transportation, trade, reconstruction, electricity and minister of state for foreign affairs to discuss several issues, including the Kurdistan Workers Party PKK and border problems,” the source told IraqiNews.com. “Al- Maliki will then leave for Iran after the one-day visit to Ankara,” the source added, noting that Turkish president Abdullah Gul will pay a visit to Iraq soon.
