Al-Maliki invites South Korean companies to invest in Iraq

BAGHDAD / IraqiNews.com: Iraqi Prime Minister Nouri al-Maliki said on Wednesday that all doors are open to Korean companies to invest in Iraq and to contribute in reconstruction operations, according to an official statement. “Al-Maliki received today at his office in Baghdad South Korean Minister of Economy Choi Joong-kyung and his accompanying delegation,” said the statement received by Iraqi News. “Al-Maliki received a letter from Korean president regarding developing ties and activating memorandum of understanding between the two countries,” the statement added. “All doors are open to South Korean countries to invest in Iraq,” the premier asserted. The Korean minister said he would hold meetings with electricity, industry, trade ministries and the National Investment Commission (NIC) to expand cooperation in different fields.   SH (TP)/SR   1269
