AL sends 68 supervisors for elections

BAGHDAD /Iraqi News The Arab League has sent 68 international supervisors to watch the March 7 elections, a member of the commissioners council said on Thursday. “There is a great cooperation between the AL, EU, OIC and most of the world’s countries in this regard as it considered an important event in Iraq and the whole region,” Qassem al-Abboudi, the official spokesman for the Independent High Electoral Commission (IHEC), said in a statement received by Iraqi News. “The IHEC has approved hundreds of international supervisors who will arrive in Baghdad and other provinces, in addition to hundreds of supervisors who will monitor the elections abroad in 16 Arab and European countries,” he added.
