Alawi, Kobler discuss bilateral relations, justice dossiers – human rights

BAGHDAD / IraqiNews.com: Iraqiya bloc leader Iyad Alawi discussed with UN representative to Iraq Martin Kobler the political situation in the country as well as the justice dossiers, human rights issues, and anti-Iranian Ashraf camp residents, stressing importance of consolidating democratic thoughts. The meeting was attended by Saleh al-Mutlaq, a leading member in Iraqiya bloc. In a statement issued by Mutlaq’s Office, received by IraqiNews.com, the meeting was also attended by a number of Iraqiya leaders to discuss the internal situation with the US forces pending withdrawal. Alawi stressed importance of consolidating democratic thoughts in the coming political stage and stop the atrocities committed against the people and terminating its agony in unemployment and material needs. Anti-Iranian Ashraf Camp residents’ question was one of the main topics discussed  and necessity to deal with it in humanitarian way that will preserve residents’ dignity according to international and humanitarian accords. Mutlaq stressed that the UN mission will take its role in different political, economic and humanitarian spheres, Ambassador Kobler hoped that Iraqi political entities will reach to agreement on democratic and human rights bases, by “certain flexibility.” RM (TI)/SR 394
